Artist Roster Program
Wyoming Arts Council Artist Roster Program
The WAC is dedicated to promoting Wyoming artists in all disciplines. It assists nonprofit organizations and schools to provide art programs and projects in their communities. Roster artists (PDF VersionIn summary, the Roster serves two purposes: it gives a WAC "stamp of approval" to the roster artist, and also serves as a programming and financial resource to local communities.
Artists apply to be on the WAC Artist Roster, and are chosen through a competitive panel review process, where they are reviewed for artistic merit and quality of programming they offer to Wyoming communities. They represent a wide variety of art forms, cultural and ethnic programs, and presentation styles.
Artists who wish to apply to be on the 2010-2011 Artist Roster should apply by December 1, 2009. New artists who are approved will be on the roster beginning 7/1/10 - 6/30/11.
Guidelines and the Application Form
for the new 2010-2011 WAC Artist Roster Program.
WAC Roster Artists must be used for all Arts Across Wyoming grants. Applicants may also use Roster artists for any of the other WAC grant programs.
How to Choose an Artist:
- Browse through the list of Roster Artists to find an artist that meets your needs. Artists are listed alphabetically by name. Descriptive paragraphs give you a feel for the kinds of program that each artist offers.
- If you are having trouble making a choice between artists, please give the WAC a call.
- We also encourage you to call the artists you are interested in, explain that you are considering a project, and ask for their input. Be ready to talk about the project or goals of your organization or school.
- You are also welcome to call references, which are available by contacting the WAC
After Choosing an Artist
- Be sure to finalize all details of the project or residency (exact dates, daily schedule, housing, where the artist will work, number of participants, costs, materials, etc.).
- Negotiate the artists' fee.
- Sign a contract with the artist, and you should both keep a copy.
- Grantees who use WAC Roster Artists are responsible for paying the artist. WAC funding is paid directly to the grantee after the signed Subgrantee Award Agreement is received.
