Grants To Organizations
Grants To Organizations (GTO) Program
Non-profit organizations and government agencies including schools may submit one application in this grant category for different projects/events taking place between July 1 and June 30 every fiscal year.
Grant Award Amounts:
In this grant category, the maximum request for a single, short-term project is $2,000; the maximum request for multiple or yearlong projects (includes festivals) is limited to $7,000. The following funding guidelines apply:
- If the cash expenses for your project or series of projects total $3,000 or less, you may request up to 50 percent of your cash expenses, not to exceed $1,000.
- If the cash expenses for your single project total more than $3,000, you may request up to 30 percent of those expenses, not to exceed $2,000.
- If the cash expenses for your series of projects, multiple unrelated projects, yearlong programs or festivals total more than $3,000, you may request up to 30 percent of those expenses, not to exceed $7,000.
The WAC’s largest grant category supports the production of arts programs, projects and events in local communities in every county. Over $250,000.00 is awarded annually to organizations large and small, with paid staff or entirely volunteer run. GTO grants promote artistic excellence and a breadth of artistic experience for audiences of all ages and abilities.
Projects encompass all the arts including performing, visual, literary, media, folk, or multi-disciplinary arts. Funded projects are community based and do not have arts education as the primary focus. Appropriate activities can range from a single performance, reading or exhibit to a yearlong project, series of projects, multiple unrelated projects, a season of arts programs and activities, and single or multi-day festivals.
Do not submit GTO applications for operating support funds. The WAC does not currently have a grant program that provides funding for general operating support of arts organizations. GTO applications should be specific to the proposed projects and should not include other basic organizational expenditures.
Deadline: Submit by or on March 15. Staff will review and provide comments on drafts of applications submitted by or on March 1.
