Belt buckle art supports Casper autism group

From the Casper Journal:

Casper Autism Support is looking for creative folks to design and donate one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted, wearable belt buckle art that will be auctioned to the highest bidder at the Beacon Club’s Thankful Thursday Oct 8. This is CAS’s second annual Belt Buckle Design Contest to raise funds for central Wyoming families who need help accessing Autism-specific interventions, training, education, specialized equipment and medical needs not typically covered by insurance.

The designer of the buckle that brings in the most money from the auction will receive $200 and will hold the title of the “2015 Belt Buckle Design Champion.” All entries must be accompanied by a nonrefundable entry fee of $10 (payable to “Casper Autism Support,” which covers the cost of the blank belt buckle) and a completed entry form. Obtain buckle “kits” at one of the following locations: Floral Rhino (139 S. Center), Petuniaz (615 S. Durbin) or Paradise Valley School (22 Magnolia).

When you pick up your entry kit, it will come with the entry form, contest rules and your choice of a metal belt buckle base. Artists may use their own base, but each entry must be accompanied by an entry form (receive one from Christy at cgarner@tribscp.com). Buckles must be turned in with a completed and signed form by Wednesday, Sept 30. You may return the form and buckle in person to one of the participating retailers (above) or by mail to Casper Autism Support, c/o Christy Garner, 750 W. 58th St., Casper, WY, 82604.

We also need belt buckle wearers to bid on the unique belt buckle creations, so please join Casper Autism Support at the Beacon Club for the family-friendly Thankful Thursday fundraising event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8. There is no cover charge or obligation to purchase anything, but just for coming, adults will have a chance to win $500 from the Thankful Thursday organizers. The Beacon Club and their partners, My Country 95.5 and Rodeo Rick, have raised over $650,000 for Natrona County charities since 2011. Please consider supporting this worthwhile event in any way you can.
