Description:

Tamara Rodgers’ photography has been a developing journey of self-discovery. She often seeks out remote, sometimes barren landscapes that are isolated within Wyoming and the surrounding area that feel forgotten or have a historical context.
A large body of Rodgers’ work is presented in black and white and attempts to cause the viewer to pause and infer an image based on more than an emotional response to color. It is important to see the gesture, drama and textures of a fleeting moment of time within her images to spark an emotive response within the viewer. There are rare occasions when she decides color is a better choice for her images.
Tamara Rodgers is an award winning, fine art photographer based in Cheyenne, WY. Her most recent awards include grand prize in the Popular Photography’s Annual Readers’ Photo Contest in 2016; best photography in the Old West Museum’s Western Spirit Art Show and Sale also in 2016; and Ellie Field “In Focus” Award for her work with Wingspan at Laramie County Community College (LCCC) in 2015. She is currently studying art with a minor in graphic design at the University of Wyoming. Tamara earned an Associate of Arts in Multimedia with high distinction from LCCC in 2015.
