News from our colleagues at the State Museum:

Just in time for the celebration of Wyoming’s 125 years of Statehood, the Wyoming State Museums special 125th Anniversary exhibit is completed.

Featuring artifacts from the State Museum’s collection, as well as historic photos and documents from the State Archives, the exhibit chronicles significant events in the state’s history year by year.

This week’s featured object, the last one to go up on display, is the 44-star flag that was presented to Wyoming’s first State Governor F.E. Warren by Esther Hobart Morris on July 10th, 1890.

The flag was purchased by the Cheyenne Chapter of the National Suffrage Association to show their appreciation for the continued right of women suffrage in Wyoming.

The 125th Anniversary exhibit will be on display until July, 2017. For more information, please contact Mark Brammer at (307)777-7025.

The Wyoming State Museum is located at 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Admission is free.
