Traditional Native American arts that use glass, fiber, and stone will be the inspiration for the next Wyoming State Museum Family Days program, to be held on March 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to Nathan Doerr, Curator of Education, “participants will be able to explore the Museum’s Native American exhibit, especially pieces in the Museum’s collection that include bead and quill work, and use those pieces as inspiration as they create their own bead/quillwork designs, hide paintings, and petroglyphs.”

Participants are invited to stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to explore the Museum and participate in the Family Days program.

Family Days is a free program of the Wyoming State Museum that provides children and their families with fun and educational opportunities to explore Wyoming’s natural and cultural resources. The program is held the firstSaturday of the month, September through May, at the Wyoming State Museum. Each month’s program has a different theme. For more information, contact Doerr at 777-7021.

The Wyoming State Museum is located in the Barrett Building, 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne. For more information, please contact Nathan Doerr at (307) 777-7021.
