Art in the Parks

Wyoming State Parks,  Historic Sites and Trails utilize artists from the Wyoming Artist Roster at their facilities and during annual events.  Artists, both musical and visual, are integral parts of their Wyoming Kids Xtreme (link to: http://wyoparks.state.wy.us/Kids/Index.aspx)  projects, such as the Fire & Ice Festival held annually in Cheyenne each January.

In 2012, to mark the 75th anniversary of the Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails and the 45th anniversary of the Wyoming Arts Council, the two agencies partnered to celebrate the state’s natural and artistic heritage.  During the summer, artists of all ages were invited to create original artworks, in any medium or style, inspired by Wyoming’s state parks and historic sites.  All participants were provided a free park pass valid for three visits. Twelve top submissions will be featured in a commemorative 2013 calendar.
