From today’s story in County 10 Online:
Lander man Marvin Brown was recognized last night by Mayor Mick Wolfe for his work for the Lander Community Concerts Association.
Following the association’s final concert of the season featuring pianist Tien Hsieh at Lander Valley High School, Wolfe read a proclamation naming April 2, 2013 “Maestro Marvin Brown Day.”
The proclamation recounts Brown’s history as a musician, his military service and and his wife Joann’s support.
“Marvin has been among the most enthusiastic supporters of civic pride, progress, and volunteer spirit, most notably in developing and sustaining our community’s cultural growth through leadership of the Lander Community Concerts Association,” states the proclamation. “The Lander Community Concerts Association’s promotion of the arts is of great benefit to Lander’s citizens and economy. … Marvin has been president, promoter, and the principal power behind the Lander Community Concerts Association for more than a decade.”
