According to today’s
Rapid City Journal, the chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts will be in Pine Ridge and
Rapid City this week as part of a three-state trip focused on local community art.
Rocco Landesman will visit the
HeritageCenter at
RedCloudIndianSchool in Pine Ridge on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 16. He will join a panel discussion on arts in the Black Hills at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the
DahlArtsCenter,

, in
Rapid City that is open to the public. Panel discussion will be on “Creative Placemaking in the Black Hills Region.”
Last time we looked at a map, some of that Black Hills region was in
Wyoming. It still is! Some of our
Black Hills artists and arts group reps might want to traipse over to Rapid on Thursday to what’s cooking, creative placemaking-wise.
