Bookfests aplenty this fall in WY & UT

The Equality State Book Festival is set for Sept. 18-20 in Casper. This is the second annual statewide bookfest and features a full line-up of writers, poets, editors and agents.

Mark your calendars to hear the rich lineup of keynote authors who will speak in The City Library’s auditorium on October 25, during the 11th annual Utah Humanities Book Festival:

• Richard Peck has written over twenty novels, and in the process has become one of America’s most highly respected writers for young adults. The title of his presentation is, “Celebration of real books in an age of Facebook.”
• Honor Moore is the author of recently published memoir, “The Bishop’s Daughter.” The book is a daughter’s story that chronicles her turbulent relationship with a father who struggled privately with his sexuality while she was openly exploring hers.
• Thrity Umrigar is the author of the national best-seller, “The Space Between Us,” which was also a #1 BookSense pick and a finalist for the 2007 PEN/Beyond Margins award. The novel has been published in over 15 countries.
• Terry Tempest Williams is the author of the upcoming book “Finding Beauty in a Broken World: A Mosaic.” It chronicles her journey from Italy, America to Rwanda and examines a redefined sense of family, community, and species.
• Stephen Trimble’s new book, “Bargaining for Eden: The Fight for the Last Open Spaces in America,” explores how we make decisions as a community about the landscapes we love. Steve will lead a panel discussion with three key participants in the land trade: Joan Degiorgio (The Nature Conservancy); Gale Dick (Save Our Canyons); and Joro Walker (Western Resource Advocates).
