Call for entries: American Icon Art Exhibition

From the American Icon Art Exhibition web site:

The theme of the 2015 American Icon Art Competition is “Wings. Wheels. Waves. Iconic American Transportation,” and we invite artists throughout the world, to express their vision of how America moves using photography, painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media.

The Competition gives artists the platform to express their vision of America Transportation in a variety of media. It is up to the artist to choose an image(s) that is iconic of America transportation based on their personal experiences, upbringing and beliefs. Is your vision a device such as a plane, train or automobile? Or is it a skate boarder, mountain biker or hang glider? Is your vision an iconic bridge or highway in America? We want to know.

The American Icon Art Competition originated in 2012, in celebration of one of the world’s most iconic structures –the Golden Gate Bridge. The competition is a way to showcase artists, both professional and amateur, in a special exhibit at the internationally acclaimed Sausalito Art Festival, now in it’s 63nd year.

Today, the mission of the Sausalito Art Festival’s American Icon Competition is to foster the personal, artistic expression of American imagery, from people of all artistic skill levels and backgrounds in an innovative, creative, and ecologically sustainable manner.

To enter your submission for an opportunity to win cash prizes and be featured at the 2015 Sausalito Art Festival, click here.

Deadline is Aug. 1, 2015.
