Casper College Humanities Festival seeks speakers on the topic of "revolution"

From a Casper College press release:

Presenters are being sought for the 2015 Casper College Humanities Festival and Demorest Lecture to be held February 25-27 at the college.

“The festival is a yearly gathering of scholars who present work on a particular theme in much the same way TED Conferences work,” said Valerie Innella Maiers, festival committee chair. According to Innella Maiers, the festival will focus on the theme “Revolution.” “Each session is approximately an hour and should encourage a dialogue with attendees. These festival sessions are free and open to the public and will be held in conjunction with the Casper College Theater Department’s production of “Angels in America” and the Casper College RedStone Recital Series,” Innella Maiers noted.

Those interested in participating as a speaker on the topic of “Revolution” need to submit a 500-word session abstract, cover letter with current contact information, and curriculum vitae via email to vinnella@caspercollege.edu. “Academic areas to be addressed during the event can include, but are not limited to: anthropology, archeology, art history, art theory or criticism, comparative religions, dance, ethics, folklore/folk life, gender studies, history, jurisprudence, linguistics, literature, museology, music performance, history or theory, philosophy, social sciences, and theater performance, history, or theory,” said Innella Maiers. All submissions are due by August 15, 2014.

Selected presenters will be notified by September 1, 2014 and each speaker will receive an honorarium. For more information contact Innella Maiers via the submission email or at 307-268-2060 or 800-442-2963, ext. 2060.
