The Ceili at the Roundhouse Celtic Festival will be held March 20-21 in Evanston.
Children 7 and under admitted FREE during daytime Festival hours: March 21, 3-7:30 pm and March 22, 10 am – 5:30 pm.Traditional Celtic music, entertainment, dancing, children’s activities, educational music and dance workshops, ethnic foods, “the drink,” and more. Held at the beautifully restored Roundhouse & Railyards Complex in Evanston.  No worries about the weather, all events held INDOORS.The Outside Track — Headline Concert, March 21, 8 p.m.: Winner of Best Group in both the Live Ireland awards and the Tradition In Review awards, The Outside Track are one of the top Celtic acts in the world. A stunning synthesis of virtuosity and energy, their marriage of Celtic music, song, dance has been rapturously received around the world. Hailing from Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Breton, its five members are united by a love of traditional music and a commitment to creating new music on this as a foundation. They effortlessly fuse traditional fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar, whistle, step-dance and vocals with breathtaking vitality. ‘Among the top groups in the world. Traditional, creative, and brilliant’ (LiveIreland.com).The Tannahill Weavers — Headline Concert, March 21, 6 p.m.: One of Scotland’s premier traditional bands, these versatile musicians have received worldwide accolades consistently over the years for their exuberant performances and outstanding recordings. Over the years the Tannies have been international trailblazers for Scottish music, and their tight harmonies and powerful, inventive arrangements have won them fans from beyond the folk and Celtic music scenes. From reflective ballads to foot-stomping reels and jigs, the variety and range of the material they perform is matched only by their enthusiasm and lively Celtic spirits.

Tempest  — Headline Concert, March 21, 8 p.m.: Celebrating 25 years of Celtic rock, since forming in 1988, Tempest has delivered a globally-renowned hybrid of high-energy Folk Rock fusing Irish reels, Scottish ballads, Norwegian influences and other world music elements. The last 25 years have seen the San Francisco Bay Area based act release fifteen critically acclaimed CDs and play more than 2,000 gigs. It’s also enjoyed an evolving line-up that’s enabled musicianship and creativity to rise with each new member.
