Creative Capital conducts “Strategic Planning for Artists” workshop May 16 in Jackson

From an article in the Jackson Hole Public Art newsletter:

Professional development opportunities for JH artists abound: On Saturday, May 16, the Art Association is hosting a Strategic Planning for Artists Workshop led by Creative Capital, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing integrated financial and advisory support to artists pursuing adventurous projects.

The workshop will teach participants key business and management skills, and provide first-hand knowledge about using those tools to achieve individual success. Topics slated to be covered include business management, goal setting, communications and negotiation. The format for the day will blend lectures with interactive exercises and small working groups. Participants leave with a Strategic Planning workbook.

Only 24 spaces are available for the free one-day workshop. Artists working in all disciplines are invited to apply, with eligibility defined as artists who: create original work as their primary focus; have worked as a professional artist for at least three years; and are not currently enrolled in a degree program. The application deadline is midnight on Monday, April 20; accepted artists will be notified on Friday, May 1.
