Description:
Deborah is a studio ceramic artist specializing in salt-fired functional and sculptural pieces. She earned a BFA in 1999 from Webster University in St Louis, Missouri, and has lived in Lander, Wyoming since 2003.
Her work is fired in a salt kiln, designed and built by her at her studio/home in rural Wyoming. The salt firing process involves introducing salt directly into the kiln, where it volatizes and bonds with the pieces as glaze.
The Wyoming Arts Council believes that experiencing the arts should be accessible for all, including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, older adults, military/veterans, people living in institutions and those who lack access to the arts due to geographic isolation, cultural difference and economic hardship.
