I have been a practicing artist, photographer and an art educator since graduating from Weber State University in 1981 with a BA in Fine Art, a minor in Photography and a Secondary Art Education degree. Raised in Roy, Utah and growing up in the west, along with living and working on a cattle ranch in Mountain View, Wyoming since my marriage in 1979, has given me an exceptional artist viewpoint. When drawing, painting or taking photographs I have been able to capture the genuine and fundamental nature of the subject. It goes much deeper than just the visual view, it’s the mood created by experiencing the sounds, smells and feel of the subject matter. Taking in and understanding all that surrounds the subject enables me to truly portray the intended themes. After 34 years as an art educator in Mountain View, I am now retired and happily spend my time creating art in my studio.
