Wyoming Arts Council

It is essential for me to create what my words cannot express. I am an environmental sculptress with muddy hands, finding subtle beauty in eclectic objects. Creating truthful fictions in the garage of my childhood home I form figurative and mixed media sculptures.

My figurative sculptures often evoke water imagery, as I like the visual flow and feeling I get from being in or near water. These are sometimes pit-fired and often have multiple layers of glaze or are cold finished with acrylics and oil paints. Some of the materials in my artwork are scavenged from old dumps or trash middens on the prairie around Wyoming. This process helps fulfill my need to recycle everything possible.

I like that my creations have inspired friends to start cleaning up the prairie, beach, or wherever they are, by bringing me bits of broken pottery, glass, and rusty objects to use in my creations.
