Description:

My work is a direct response to the environment and everyday experiences. Capturing and framing instances that may go unnoticed in their original context is my largest goal within my work. Growing up having environmental conservationists for parents and being at the base of the beautiful Bighorn Mountains, I am unsure if being an artist was something I chose or something I have always been. I am interested in expiring our complex relationship with nature and I try to convey these relationships with botanical imagery. The challenge is to see beyond the distraction of the obvious to capture its true unique self. I want to inspire those who see my work to look more closely at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places. While using a variety of processes and materials in my work, the methodology remains consistent. I work with both photography and printmaking embracing what makes each medium unique to itself.
