Wyoming Arts Council

Description:

Prairie Wildfire, a bluegrass trio, consists of three teenagers from Buffalo, Wyoming. The girls got their start as BLUEGRASS musicians from the Wyoming Arts Council sponsored bluegrass camp affiliated with Buffalo's Big Horn Mountain Festival. Encouraged to form a band by local musician/hero Lynn Young, the girls entered a contest in 2015 and got their first gig the following week. Highlights of their career so far include playing at the Big Horn Mountain Festival in 2016-2018, playing the Nowoodstock festival in 2018, opening for Front Country, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, and High Country Cowboys at the Occidental Saloon, writing their own music, teaching at BigHorn Bluegrass Camp, playing steady gigs at The Occidental Saloon, The Ranch at Ucross and HF Bar, and recording their first CD, Hometown Hearts. The ladies of Prairie Wildfire are known for their tight harmonies and skilled instrumentation, with lead singer Sage Palser on the mandolin, Morgan Blaney on the bass, and Holly Qualm on guitar.
