Wyoming Arts Council

Description:

We are a dance school, a presenter and a commissioner of new work. We have a statewide outreach program, an open program for adult fitness and dance enthusiasts and a professional dance company.

Whether you are interested in dance, fitness or restorative classes, theater performances or community outreach opportunities, there is something for you or your student at Dancers' Workshop. Dancers’ Workshop is a place for our community, visiting tourists and guest artists to feel welcome, inspired and revitalized. A Dancers’ Workshop experience might include free open rehearsals, master classes and stage performances by world-class dance companies like New York City Ballet; it might include special workshops like Country Western Swing; it might include the opportunity for high caliber guest artists the time and space to hone their craft and create new works. Whatever you are interested in, Dancers’ Workshop is a supportive haven to help get your body and creativity flowing.

Our own professional company in residence, Contemporary Dance Wyoming, increases access to dance year-round. Members serve as the teaching staff at the School and teach dance education in the school systems through our statewide outreach programs. Members also teach fitness and dance classes in our adult open program, including Pilates, MELT®, Ballet and more.

We bring world-renowned dance companies and influential performance artists to our community, including New York City Ballet MOVES, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Savion Glover, Gallim Dance, Ann Carlson, BJM Danse Montreal, David Dorfman Dance, Alonzo King LINES Ballet and more. Through this presenting piece of our overall programming, we offer unique opportunities for students at the School and local audiences to engage directly with visiting artists and artists-in-residence. Through open rehearsals, master classes, workshops and stage performances, we provide as many pathways of access to dance as possible.
