Description:

Ohio-native Jennifer Kocher-Anderson has resided in Wyoming for 24 years and lives in the perfect place for inspiration. She focuses on local wildlife, birds of prey and fishing themes. Originally her work ended with pen and ink, staying simple, but just recently started adding watercolors, breathing new life into her wildlife. She focuses on close-ups of the head, especially the soul of the animal – its eyes. It is the most important feature, and if done correctly, the viewer’s eye is always drawn back to it time and time again.

Jennifer is available for commission pieces, including pet portraits or custom fly-fishing designs. Her flies are the most popular with clients picking their favorites. Reproductions, notecards and coffee mugs with fishing designs are also available. Contact her for details!

Rather than traditional framing, original works are mounted to stained wood panels. The artwork is then waxed and varnished giving the watercolor paper a soft, textured look while protecting the piece as if under glass. This mounting technique is untraditional for watercolor paintings that still protects from UV or moisture damage.

She also operates Jumpin' Jaybird Studio in Star Valley, Wyoming teaching afterschool and summer classes for kids. Her business utilizes the local community centers providing weekly classes.
