Melissa Cook is the author of "The Call of the Last Frontier: The True Story of a Woman's Twenty-Year Alaska Adventure" and the blogs MSsymptoms.me and Alaska Bush Life. She combines her love for storytelling and the outdoors with her passion for photography by filming and starring in the YouTube show Wyoming Jeepers. If she isn't writing, she's filming, editing, or chatting with fans online.

Before Melissa was a Wyoming Jeeper, she was an Alaska bush teacher. In 1995, she and her husband left Wyoming to raise their three boys in remote Alaska. In 2016, they retired and returned to the Big Horn Basin. Today, Melissa works with her husband Elgin on the Wyoming Jeeper videos, promotes her book, and writes blog posts weekly. She also volunteers for the local fire department, maintains her EMT certification, and serves on the Wyoming Writers, Inc. board.
