Linda Becker

Born Linda Bayhi in New Orleans, Louisiana of French and Spanish heritage she moved to southern California in the late 1950's where she grew up and started a family. Linda raised four sons and has lived in Lake County, California since 1990. She has always had a passion for life, people, children and animals. She was shy in school but when it came to her art classes she felt right at home and knew her calling. She devoted her life to her children who always came first and once grown she finally found time for herself. With her passion for art rekindled she decided to attend college taking computer and several art classes consisting of drawing and painting, learning perspective, composition and the balance of color. She also received instruction from local established artists or many years. Her paintings consist of still life, portraits with wildlife being her true passion. She started out using pencil, charcoal and ink then ventured into oils and pastels. She gives great attention to detail and strives for photo realism which brings her subjects to life.

Linda has been a member of the Lake County Arts Council for over 20 years and has shown and sold her work in the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport, California. She is also a member of the Bosque Art Center and has been accepted into their Annual Art Classic for several years taking home many awards. She also participates in art groups and competitions mainly online. In 2016 in the American Art Awards, with over 60 countries entering the competition, she placed 4th in the category of Impressionism, in 2019 came in 4th in the category of Realism also in the same category in 2021 won 3rd place all of which were juried by 25 American art galleries and museums. She also received a Special Merit Award in the All-Women Art Exhibition through the Art, Space and Time Online Gallery. In 2020 she received the Silver Medal for Pastel and the New Entrant Award in the 35th Annual Bosque Art Classic, in 2021 she received the Gold Medal in the 36th Bosque Art Classic also in Pastel with both shows resulting in sales. For several years she was a member of the American Academy of Women Artists being featured in Southwest Art Magazine.
