GRAND TETON ASSOCIATIONS’ ARTISTS IN THE ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM ANNOUNCES ITS COLLABORATION WITH THREE MEMBERS OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN PLEIN AIR PAINTERS IN HOSTING A FREE LANDSCAPE PAINTING DEMONSTRATION!

On Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, a select group of three professional artists will paint landscape scenes using the backdrop of Oxbow Bend in Grand Teton National Park as a motif.

Visitors are welcome to watch as oil paintings evolve from a blank canvas to framable art. Conversations with artists, Stephen C. Datz, Jeanne Mackenzie and Kathryn Mapes-Turner are welcomed.

Artistic excellence and passion for painting America’s landscape connect Jackson Hole native and resident, Kathryn Mapes-Turner to Colorado artists, Stephen C. Datz and Jeanne Mackenzie. Painting on location allows these academically trained painters to interpret the light and atmosphere through individual, expressive styles. All three have received prestigious awards and are recognized in museum collections.

The opportunity to see art in action is again provided by Artists in the Environment.  This is the second in a series of four opportunities to watch artists translate their personalized vision of out-of-doors beauty. On Saturday, August 10, Wendell Field will showcase oil painting at Cunningham Cabin from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and on Saturday, September 14, Fred Kingwill will paint in watercolor at String Lake from 9:00 AM to Noon.
