The Happy Jacks, the University of Wyoming’s resident male a cappella group, will close out the spring semester with a free public performance Saturday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall in Laramie.
Songs will include a cappella renditions of pop and contemporary tunes through the decades.
Members of the Happy Jacks are auditioned out of the UW Singing Statesmen men’s choir, says Nicole Lamartine, UW Department of Music director of choral activities.
Ty Hebbert, from Gering, Neb., is the Happy Jacks musical director; Heath McAteer, of Casper, is the front man; and the assistant front man is Trae Travitz, from Evanston.
Other members of the group are: Kevin Baldwin and Jeremy Filipiak, of Laramie; Ross Breedlove and Matt Osmotherly, both from Torrington; Dillon Inglee, of Parker, Colo.; Wheatland’s Brendan Ruwart; and Austin Wilcox, from Casper.
