Hear the inside story of the Ames Monument Feb. 9 at Wyoming State Museum


From the Wyoming State Museum:

A unique perspective of AmesMonument is the featured WyomingStateMuseum lecture series presentation on Thursday, February 9, at 7 p.m., in the Multi-Purpose Room.

Entitled “The Lonely Pyramid on Sherman Hill,” Anna Lee Ames Frohlich, great- granddaughter of Oakes and Oliver Ames, will discuss the 60-foot-high AmesMonument located in what was once Sherman, Wyoming.

The presentation will explore the history of the monument itself, its builders and the area where it is located.
            
The Ames family history and their involvement with the Union Pacific Railroad will also be discussed.
