The unveiling of five gubernatorial portraits took place at the Wyoming State Capitol October 3. Represented in the five portraits are Wyoming Governors J.J. “Joe” Hickey (1959-61), Clifford P. Hansen (1963-67), Stanley K. Hathaway (1967-75), Michael J. Sullivan (1987-1995), and James E. Geringer (1995-03).

The portraits were completed by two artists, Michele Rushworth (l) and Galina Perova, who were selected from 37 applicants in a regional search of 10 western states. Both women are accomplished portrait artists having produced paintings of other governors, business leaders and professional athletes.

Rushworth, of Sammamish, Wash., painted the portraits of Governors Hansen, Sullivan and Geringer. Perova, of Salt Lake City, is responsible for the portraits of Governors Hickey and Hathaway. Both artists, Governors Geringer and Sullivan, and members of the Hathaway, Hanson, and Hickey families, attended.
Hats in hand, Governor Geringer (l) and Governor Sullivan.
