Introducing the Cheyenne Arts Festival

This just in from Arts Cheyenne:

Introducing the Cheyenne Arts Festival!

August 14-15, 2015, 15th & Thomes in Cheyenne.

Cheyenne’s biggest arts festival is moving and getting a new name.  Celebrating its fourth year, the former 17th Street Arts Festival is now the Cheyenne Arts Festival and will be centered downtown at West 15th St. & Thomes Ave., next to the Asher Building.  The Festival takes place August 14-15.

With increasing construction activity near the Dinneen Plaza, the move and name change away from 17th Street made sense for the Festival, said Arts Cheyenne Executive Director Bill Lindstrom.

“It’s the same great event with dozens of juried visual artists and performers, children’s art workshops, and artisan food and crafts,” said Lindstrom.  “ A great bonus to the new location is the availability of the Asher Building to house the visual artist exhibits and opening reception.”

Lindstrom says the second floor of the Asher Building will offer exhibit space for dozens of visual artists.  He added the Festival Performance Stage on Thomes will showcase a full-day of local and regional music and other performance acts.  Artisan Boulevard exhibitors will be on 15th Street across from the Asher and youth art workshops will be headquartered at the WYO Art Factory, also in the Asher Building.

Arts Cheyenne will announce the Festival visual and performance lineup later in July.

(The 17th Street Arts Festival is a joint project of Arts Cheyenne and Cheyenne DDA/Main Street.)
