Kate Gleason to conduct "The Actor & The Director" workshop April 16 in Jackson

The Actor & The Director: A Workshop with Guest Artist, Kate Gleason, will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 6:30-9 p.m. in the Black Box Theater at the Center for the Arts in Jackson. Fee is $35. FMI: info@offsquare.org or call 307-733-3021.

Actors and directors are invited to attend this workshop with actor and director, Kate Gleason, who joins us from Denver to direct our upcoming production of “By The Waters of Babylon” (May 2, 3, 8, 9, and 10). The workshop will include a Q&A/Discussion with Ms. Gleason on the relationship between actor and director. Directors are invited to bring questions on specific material, technique, and/or bring in a scene they have directed for feedback. Actors will have the opportunity to receive feedback on scenes or monologues.

Gleason is an accomplished Director, Actor and Acting Instructor. She is currently on the faculty of The Denver Center Theater Academy. Formerly, she was a faculty member of The New York Film Academy and The Film Academy in Vienna, Austria. Directing credits include work with the Obie award winning New York City Players, The Ontological Theatre, NYC’s Little Theatre, Cook County Theatre Dept., as well as many productions with The Denver Center Theater Academy. As an actress, she has appeared on Broadway in The Pillowman and Noises Off. Off-Broadway, Regional and International acting credits include Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), The Roundabout Theatre Co., The Kitchen, Baltimore Center Stage, Playmakers Rep, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Hebbel Theatre, Berlin, Vienna’s English Theatre, The Arvada Center, THEATREWORKS, Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company and many productions with The Denver Center Theatre Company.
