Mark Brammer

Congratulations to our State Parks and Cultural Resources colleague, Mark Bramer. Here’s the news:

Mark Brammer, who has spent 20 years of service at various museums throughout the country, has been hired as director of the Wyoming State Museum.

Brammer has served as the supervisor of exhibits and programs at the State Museum for the past four years.

A native of Indiana, Brammer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. He earned a Master’s in Museum Studies from the Newcastle University in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.

Upon returning to the United States, Brammer has worked at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Durango Children’s Museum, The Field Museum in Chicago, the Center for Agricultural Science and Heritage in Indianapolis, Ind., and the Wyoming State Museum.

“Wyoming has such a great history dating back millions of years right up to present day,” Brammer said. “We are lucky enough to have that history catalogued here at the State Museum which was founded in 1895. I look forward to being part of the team that has the responsibility to tell these stories of our great state though the artifacts and records of those, who have come before, and those who continue to make our state what it is today.”
