This news comes from the City of Laramie:

Laramie’s Public Art Plan Community Engagement Meetings

Laramie’s Community Wide Public Art Plan will guide choices about how future public art is developed and implemented. The Art Plan is a cooperative partnership effort between the City of Laramie, Laramie Main Street Alliance, Laramie Chamber Business Alliance, Laramie Beautification Committee, and the University of Wyoming Art Museum. Funding sources for the completion of the Community Wide Public Art Plan are from the above partner organizations along with grants from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund and the Wyoming Arts Council through funding from the Wyoming State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Plan cannot be created without research, community participation and community involvement. Do you have ideas about public art in Laramie? Get involved and help make the Art Plan a vision for Laramie’s future!

Renee Piechocki and Jennifer McGregor, the consultants who are organizing and preparing the Art Plan, will be hosting two discussions about public art. The consultants will be showing examples of public art projects and discussing places in Laramie that would be possible locations for public art. Everyone in the Laramie Community is invited to attend and participate. Families are always welcome; art supplies will be available for children to create their own art projects during the meetings.
