Modern dance, vertical dance and ballet on tap at UW March 31-April 2

Original works that incorporate contemporary modern dance, ballet and vertical dance will be presented Tuesday, March 31-Friday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Studio Theatre.

“Inside/Out” continues the UW Department of Theatre and Dance production series. Tickets cost $14 for the public, $11 for senior citizens and $7 for students, with discounted floor seating. For tickets and information, call (307) 766-6666 or visit www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Faculty members in the departments of Music and Theatre and Dance created the music, dance and multimedia for this performance.

The concert will be presented “in the round,” giving audiences an opportunity to observe new trends in contemporary dance. The various use of the performance space — in both the horizontal and vertical dimensions, as well as the proximity of performers to the audience — will allow movement to be viewed from different perspectives. Limited floor seating will contribute to this experience.

“Inside/Out” is supported, in part, by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.
