NASAA Releases State Arts Agency FY 2016 Legislative Appropriations Preview

The WAC just received this announcement from Ryan Stubbs, research director at the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies. Wyoming is one of the 56 state and territorial arts agencies that belong to NASAA. As you will see in the map, Wyoming is ranged No. 7 in per capita spending for the arts. This places us just below New York and just above Florida. Here’s the release:

NASAA is pleased to announce the release of the State Arts Agency Fiscal Year 2016 Legislative Appropriations Preview report. This document summarizes how state arts agencies fared during this year’s budget deliberations and includes information on the appropriations each state arts agency expects to receive for FY2016.

Feel free to circulate this information in your state. You can access the report, as well as several interactive data visualizations using appropriations data, from the NASAA website [this shows map of per capita spending ]. NASAA is sharing this report with state arts advocacy organizations and Americans for the Arts as well as with other cultural funding and advocacy partners at the national level.

In addition to this bottom-line synopsis, NASAA can provide information on FY2016 per capita funding and rankings, line-item funds and trends over time. Trend data from prior years are available in the State Revenues Center.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or another member of the NASAA research staff if you have any questions.
