The Nicolaysen Art Museum will hold two Banner Art Walks in downtown Casper at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 and Sept. 27. Learn more about the 40 banners hanging around town as a celebration of the Nic’s 40th anniversary. Curator Lisa Hatchadoorian will lead the walks and discuss the artists and their styles.
The banners are vinyl reproductions of original pieces hanging in the museum’s Hallway Gallery. The project was inspired by a similar one held in New York City’s Times Square.
The original banner art will be auctioned at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at the Nicolaysen’s “NIC-EBY’S” event. Forty prints of each banner and T-shirts featuring five different banners will also be available for purchase.

The Wyoming Arts Council believes that experiencing the arts should be accessible for all, including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, older adults, military/veterans, people living in institutions and those who lack access to the arts due to geographic isolation, cultural difference and economic hardship.
