Pat & John Patton perform at Casper College


Pat and John Patton will perform on Saturday, Aug. 22, 7:30 p.m. in Durham Hall at Aley Fine Arts Center, Casper College.


Patrick Patton is Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Casper College. He is past chair of the department of Music and served as artistic director of the Choral Arts Ensemble of Casper. Currently, he serves as Chorusmaster for the Helena Symphony Chorale, a 100-voice civic choir that prepares significant choral literature for performance with the Helena Symphony. Dr. Patton holds the Doctor of Musical Arts and the Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Education degree at the University of Wyoming.

He has made over 400 appearances on four continents as guest conductor, adjudicator, and workshop clinician. The Casper College Collegiate Chorale has joined forces on numerous occasions for the presentation of major choral/orchestral works including the “Requiems” of Brahms, Verdi, and Rutter, the Dvorak “Te Deum”, the Vaughan-Williams “Serenade to Music”, and Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. The choir has joined with the Helena Symphony and Chorale in a presentation of the Poulenc “Gloria” “Carmina Burana”, Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” as well as many other major choral/orchestral works. In addition to the regularly scheduled concert series, Dr. Patton directs the annual Casper College Madrigal Feast and serves as co-director of the Casper College Jazz Festival. He has also been featured as guest tenor soloist with Casper and Helena Symphonies and Chorales.

John is the son of Pat and his wife, Marcia. He is a former member of the Casper Children’s Chorale, who has returned from Denver frequently to play percussion for the group’s concerts. Pat and Marcia toured with Up With People and the USO during their college years, and Pat was lead guitarist.
