Piatigorsky Foundation Announces Wyoming Spring Tour

For the 16th consecutive year, the Muriel & Seymour Thickman Family Charitable Trust in Sheridan is funding The Piatigorsky Foundation tour of Wyoming.

The spring 2019 tour will include public concerts and school outreach programs. The community concerts are free and open to the public. The Wyoming Arts Council serves as facilitator with each of the communities in the state.

This tour features mezzo-soprano Katherine Calcamuggio Donner. Here is the schedule for the spring 2019 Wyoming Piatigorsky Tour:

  • Sunday, April 7, Worland, WY | Washakie Museum & Cultural Center, 2 p.m.
  • Monday, April 8, Worland, WY | Worland High School (school show only), 2:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 9, Thermopolis, WY | Hot Springs County High School (school show only), 8:20 a.m.; Pioneer Home,  11 a.m. and Pinedale, WY | Pinedale Library, 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 11, Kemmerer, WY | Kemmerer High School (school show only), 10:30 a.m. and Kemmerer Elementary School (school show only), 2 p.m.
  • Friday, April 12, Wamsutter, WY | Desert Middle School (school show only), 2 p.m.

This tour features mezzo-soprano Katherine Calcamuggio Donner,  an award-winning mezzo-soprano.

Calcamuggio Donner has been featured in important role and company debuts across the United States, eliciting kudos for her “soaring, rich voice” (The Miami Herald), her “polished musical and dramatic characterizations” (Kurt Well Newsletter) and her “fine coloratura technique” (Philadelphia Inquirer).

She has received top prizes in the American Opera Society, Pal Beach Opera, Bel Canto and Shreveport Singer of the Year competitions; and has awards from the Chicago Women’s Musician’s Club and the Anna Sosenko Trust. She is a former participant in young artists’ programs at Florida Grand Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, as well as the Aspen and Brevard Music Festivals.
