From David Newell, Wyoming State Museum Curator and Arts in Public Buildings Coordinator: This is a photo of “Play Ball”, the glass sculpture recently installed at the Medium Security Prison in Torrington through the 1% for Art in Public Buildings program managed by the Wyoming Arts Council. The piece hangs in the cupola of the vistors center and can be seen from all directions. It is a splash of color and hope in a very stark institutional environment. A stunning bit of relief from steel and razor wire to be sure! The piece will be dedicated in June.
