Public invited to attend Wyoming Arts Council Board events May 30-31 in Laramie


The Wyoming Arts Council will hold its quarterly board meeting in Laramie May 30-31. It will be held at the University of Wyoming Art Museum on the UW campus.

Agenda items include the decisions on FY14 Grants to Organizations, Operating Support and Arts Education grants, review of WAC budgets, long-range planning, discussion of Art in Public Buildings projects, event planning, the next Governor’s Arts Awards, executive session (if needed) and other administrative matters.

The board invites individuals and organizational representatives to attend any part of the meeting to observe the board process, and to address the board during the public comment session beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. Comments are welcomed about the agency’s policies, funding priorities, on-line granting system and other arts-related topics. The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host a free public reception from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. Come out and meet the WAC board, enjoy some refreshments and view the exhibits in the galleries.

After the meeting concludes on Friday, some board members and staff will remain for the Ark Regional Services’ Cooper Center for the Creative Arts 7:30 p.m. presentation of “The Imaginary Invalid,” a comedy by Moliere. The production was funded in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.
