We’re excited to announce that Bluegrass Camps for Kids will be with us for the 2014 festival and has been expanded to four days from July 8th to July 11th from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. This will be a bluegrass and folk music program for children ages 9-18, organized and taught by members of the award-winning band, The Barefoot Movement. Children can pick from a wide range of classes, including all levels of guitar, bass, banjo, fiddle, and vocals. Campers will also experience band class with their peers, daily jams, square dances, art projects, and optional private lessons. Campers will present a main stage performance on Friday afternoon.
There is a limit of 35 students and the cost is $200 per student. Scholarship assistance is available for eligible Sheridan and Johnson County residents. Follow this link for more information and registration. Questions should be addressed to the Johnson County Arts & Humanities Council via e-mail.
Festival workshops will be announced as we gather our lineup for 2014 and assemble our schedule. Check back in the spring for the 2014 workshops.
The Wyoming Arts Council believes that experiencing the arts should be accessible for all, including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, older adults, military/veterans, people living in institutions and those who lack access to the arts due to geographic isolation, cultural difference and economic hardship.
