"No Roosters in the Desert" on stage April 4 at the Shepard Symposium in Laramie


No Roosters in the Desert, a play by Kara Hartzler, will be performed on Friday, April 4, 7 p.m., in the UW Education Auditorium in Laramie. It’s past of the 18th annual Shepard Symposium on Social Justice.

The play follows four women as they attempt to cross the border from Mexico to the United States, facing not only the unforgiving Arizona desert, but the hot-button cultural and social issues that are front and center in today’s society.

The production is being directed by guest director Luis Guerrero, who is drawing on his own experience as a Mexican immigrant to imbue the play with his personal insight while exploring challenging issues.
