From the Teton County Public Library:

Teton County Library’s live storytelling competition, Cabin Fever Story Slam, is back by popular demand on Tuesday, March 3, 7:30 p.m., at Pinky G’s Pizzeria.

This time the Story Slam theme will be: “secret.” That doesn’t mean your story has to be confessional. Secret can mean anything from your secret hunting spot to a childhood secret to someone else’s secret to secret agent to your brand of deodorant or lingerie … ?

Who: You
When: 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3
Where: Pinky G’s Pizzeria. Seating is limited so come early to find a seat.
How much: Free
Web: Get tips and rules at tclib.org/cabinfever

To prepare for the competition, participants simply have to tell a true story, inspired by our theme, in less than five minutes and without notes. “While this is an amateur storytelling contest, we still want people to practice,” advises Leah Shlachter, Library Adult Program Coordinator. “Try telling your story to your pillow to your phone or to your friends so that when you take the stage, you can relax and have fun telling it to a new crowd.”

Once you have your story dialed, show up to Pinky G’s and throw your name in a hat. The Library will select 10 storytellers at random. Storytellers, who take the stage, will earn a free slice of pizza plus a chance to win a gift certificate for an entire pie from sponsor Pinky G’s.

The program is free and open to the community with support from donations, large and small, to the Teton County Library Foundation.
