Sheridan Artists Guild selects Jody Sauers as new executive director

The Sheridan Artists Guild, the non-profit organization that operates the Sagebrush Art Center, announces the employment of a  new  Executive Director — Jody Sauers.  Jody assumed duties  as Executive Director at the Art Center the beginning of February.  “Her job responsibilities are financially based with fund raising for the organization and the art center the top priority”  stated Board President Edre Maier. Maier has been volunteering  as Executive Director until the position could be filled.

Jody comes to the Art Center with an impressive background in advertising, marketing and business.  She also has experience in  managing  a bronze  art gallery as well as promoting the artists.  “With her background in art and financial services, we feel that Jody is the perfect fit for Sage and the Sagebrush Art Gallery”  stated Maier.

Jody is also actively involved in the Sheridan Community with board and volunteer experience in non-profits such as  the Downtown Sheridan Association: the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce   Historic Retail Committee; Rotary Black Tie Bingo; Volunteers of America Barn Dance; Buffalo Bill Days; Third Thursday Street Festival; YMCA Give your Heart to a Child; and Marketing Chair for the Story Arts Station.

“I feel the arts are very important in the continued economic vitality of the Sheridan area and I am thrilled to be an integral part of that growth.  We have a tremendous Arts Community and a fantastic opportunity to expand and build on what is already here” stated Sauers.  Watch for many exciting events that the Sheridan Arts Guild is planning for the Sheridan Community in the coming weeks and months.

Funding for the Executive Director position was provided in part by the Wyoming Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, Wolf Creek Foundation, and the Seymour Thickman Family Trust.

The Sagebrush Art Center is located in the historic Train Depot at 201 E 5th street and is open to the public Monday  Through Saturday from 10 am – 4 pm.
