Take a stroll through Cheyenne’s colorful past


Take a stroll through Cheyenne’s colorful past on the Wyoming State Museum Volunteer’s 8th Annual Historic Homes Walk, Saturday May 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants can register at 115 W. 27th St. and take the self-guided walking tour anytime from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tour is approximately one mile and dogs on leash are welcome.

Written directions and historical information about some of the homes along the trail will be provided.

Some of the former homes included on the tour are Gov. Leslie Miller; Cyrus Beard (Chief Justice of the Wyo. Supreme Court); Supreme Court Judge Rodney Guthrie; D.S. Swan (prominent Cheyenne business man); Moses P. Keefe (prominent Cheyenne contractor); W.E. Chaplin (Registrar for the U.S. Land Office;  C.W. Hirsig (Cheyenne Banker); and more.

The event is free and open to the public.  Donations are appreciated and will benefit programming at the Wyoming State Museum; 307-637-5987 or 777-7021.
