Central Wyoming College in Riverton announced Wednesday that candidate Terry Dugas accepted the position for the general manager of Wyoming PBS. Dugas, who will be replacing soon to retire general manager Ruby Calvert, plans to start August 1, 2015.

For the past seven years, Dugas has been the manager of content distribution for NET Television, the statewide PBS network in Lincoln, Nebr. His responsibilities included acquiring and scheduling content for NET Television’s broadcast, cable and internet channels. Dugas was also responsible for the department’s social media and on-air promotion strategy. For nine years previously, he was head of Interactive Media and Education at NET.

Before coming to Nebraska, he was Director of Web and Multimedia Educational Services and Associate Director of Distance Learning at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Prior to that, he was Associate Director of WGCU-TV, the Ft. Myers Florida PBS affiliate, for eleven years. Before moving to Public Broadcasting, he spent ten years in commercial television management in South Carolina, Florida, Texas and Virginia.

“With Ruby’s imminent retirement, we are excited to have someone with Terry’s public broadcasting background ready to come on board as the new general manager,” said Jennifer Rey, Executive Director of Human Resources.

Dugas has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in English from the University of South Carolina. He has two sons, a recent graduate from New College of Florida and a sophomore at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

The WAC and the state’s arts community welcome Terry Dugas to Wyoming!
