As part of The Big Read, the YMCA Writer’s Voice is offering four writing workshops. The half day writing workshops will use Louise Erdrich’s novel as the writing example. Instructors will help participants create their own work based on family history, memoir, narrative style, point of view, figurative language, character development and symbolism.
The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. The Big Read brings together partners across the country to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment.
This project is funded in part by a grant from Humanities Montana, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
