Two UW grad students win "Energy Education for the People" writing contest

From a UW press release:
Explaining the technical and economic factors of residential-scale wind turbines earned two University of Wyoming graduate students first place and $1,000 in the 2011 Energy Education for the People writing contest.
Information from “Is Wind Energy Right for Me?” by Heather Sauder and George Randolph, both in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, will be incorporated into a UW Extension publication written for non-technical audiences. Randolph, from Elkhart, Ind., is in the Department of Atmospheric Science. Sauder, from Corrales, N.M., is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The competition seeks entries about small renewable energy and energy efficiency applicable to Wyoming residents. The annual contest is sponsored by UW Extension, with support from the Wind Energy Research Center and the School of Energy Resources.
