The University of Wyoming Art Museum is accepting submissions from Wyoming artists to participate in its statewide traveling exhibition service. The exhibition will be seen in museums, galleries, community centers, libraries and schools across Wyoming. The tour is anticipated to visit five communities annually for the next three years. In addition, the Art Museum will be creating educational tools and curricular material that will be online for K-12 teachers.
“We are very excited to feature Wyoming artists in the Touring Exhibition Service. This outreach program of the Art Museum has high visibility and delivers exhibitions of original art to communities statewide,” said Susan Moldenhauer, director and chief curator of the Art Museum.
Artists need to be living and working primarily in Wyoming. The work must be two-dimensional, ready to frame, and no charcoal or pastel will be accepted due to the long-term travel conditions. The size of the work cannot exceed 14 x 18 inches in total and size of the image must not exceed 10 x 12 inches.
Artists may submit up to three images of their artwork, along with a brief artist’s statement and résumé, by Oct. 22. Original artwork will not be accepted. Please submit slides, photographs, .jpeg or .tiff files of the work, including a title, size, date and medium for each of the works submitted. There is not an entry fee or official form to submit.

“Imagine learning from the masters” is a guiding principle of the UW Art Museum’s programs. The museum is located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Dr. in Laramie. The museum and Museum Store are open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Museum hours are extended to 9 p.m. on Mondays during the fall and spring semesters. Admission is free.
The Wyoming Arts Council believes that experiencing the arts should be accessible for all, including people with mental and/or physical disabilities, older adults, military/veterans, people living in institutions and those who lack access to the arts due to geographic isolation, cultural difference and economic hardship.
