From a University of Wyoming press release:

The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host its 22nd annual gala fundraiser, “Riviera Rendezvous: An Evening at Cannes,” Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.

UW President Dick McGinity and his partner, Susan Berman, host this year’s event.

“We look forward to the Art Museum’s black tie gala every year. The Art Museum is one of the gems of the University of Wyoming,” they say. “The funds raised at the gala are essential to the Art Museum’s mission of serving communities, teachers and students across the state, and exhibiting the world’s artists and their creativity in Wyoming. Please join us for a night in Cannes.”

“Riviera Rendezvous: An Evening at Cannes” is planned as a fun-filled, festive evening of fine food, libations, music, friends and an expansive silent auction set around the theme of an evening at Cannes. This is the first year that the gala will be held in the Gateway Center. It will feature a new online bidding system that will allow attendees to bid from their smartphones and monitor their bids throughout the evening.

Presented by the National Advisory Board of the UW Art Museum, the event provides significant program dollars for Art Museum exhibitions, collections, education and outreach. Through its “Museum as Classroom” initiative, the Art Museum places art at the center of learning for all ages, whether in the museum itself, or in museums across the state, or via the Ann Simpson Art Mobile.

Invitations will be mailed this month. For more information and to be added to the invitation list, call the Art Museum’s administrative assistant, (307) 766-3477.
