From a University of Wyoming press release:

University of Wyoming men’s basketball fans can help “Rock the Aztecs” by attending a pregame concert by Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band in the Arena-Auditorium Wednesday, Jan. 14, before the Cowboys’ Mountain West Conference game against San Diego State University (SDSU).

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the concert from 7-7:45 p.m.; the game will tip off at 9 p.m. Fans can gain admission to the concert using their tickets to the basketball game, and UW students will be admitted with their student IDs. UW students will receive free pizza and Pepsi products. A raffle for students will be held during the game; prizes include free textbooks for the spring semester, an Xbox, a television and gift certificates.

A native of Moorcroft, Williams and his Younger Brothers Band have relentlessly toured the West, developing a rabid fan base not seen from the Cowboy State since Kaycee’s Chris LeDoux. In fact, Williams and LeDoux are the only two to ride in the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo and play its main stage as a major entertainer.

Williams, a UW graduate with four degrees, also was a saddle bronc rider on the Cowboy men’s rodeo team. He is the band’s lead singer.

The Younger Brothers Band members are all Wyoming natives, and some are UW graduates. Williams formed the band with lifelong friend, drummer Travis DeWitt, also of Moorcroft. Other band members are lead guitarist Wyatt Springsteen from Saratoga; fiddle player Brooke Latka of Casper; and bass player Jack Robbins from Laramie.

For more information, view the band’s website at http://www.chanceywilliams.com/.

The UW Cowboys have claimed a victory over San Diego State in the last two contests in the Arena-Auditorium. The Aztecs were ranked among the nation’s top 15 teams in both of those games. UW leads the all-time series with SDSU, 39-35, including a 26-8 mark in Laramie.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the UW athletics ticket office at 877-WYO-FAN1 (877-996-3261) or online at www.GoWYO.com.
