Jalan Crossland has been called an “endemic Wyoming treasure.” He is an acoustic guitarist, banjo player, singer-songwriter, and engaging showman. His won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in 1997 and the State Flatpick Championship title of his home state in 1999. Crossland’s compositions reflect his life in tiny Ten Sleep (pop. 300). Wrote Michael Seagall in the New York Times: “He casts a sardonic but affectionate eye on the roughhewn lives of Western people.” When Crossland comes to town, expect illuminating demonstrations of the guitar and banjo, entertaining performances and a lively give-and-take with audiences.
